Menstrual pain can be a pain in the butt and a pain in the back. This has come to be known as normal monthly pain for women and we just deal with it. However, sometimes this pain is so debilitating we don’t leave the couch, we curl up with a blanket, eat ice cream and wait for it to end. 

As a female suffering from menstrual cramps and a student in my early teens, I had to find an alternative solution to the pile of Advil, Tylenol and Midol I was taking. My family doctor warned me that these anti-inflammatory drugs provide temporary relief, but long-term use can have a negative impact on my intestines and lead to stomach ulcers. So, I began to do my research and heard chiropractors can help!

As a chiropractor now, I have seen results using gentle adjustments of the low back and pelvis to re-align the joints followed by muscle stretching to alleviate tension through those tight muscles. Both myofascial cupping and acupuncture can also be helpful tools to clear up any restrictions or muscle knots. By loosening the joints and muscles, the nerves that supply the uterus can move more freely. By creating a healthy environment for the reproductive organs, I can help you modulate your pain and get you off the couch and back to regular activity.
